CITY OF AVENTURA NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that per direction of the City Commission, the City of Aventura shall hold a Special Election, in conjunction with the Aventura General Election and County-wide election, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for the purpose of electing a member to the City Commission for vacated Commissioner Seat 2. The elected commissioner will serve the remainder of the vacated term, which ends in November 2026.


Persons interested in running must reside north of the William Lehman Causeway at the time of qualifying, at the time of his/her election and must continue to reside in such residential area during his/her term of office. Candidates must also be electors of the City who have resided continuously in the City for at least one year preceding the date of filing to qualify.


Candidates must qualify to run during the period of August 12-16, 2024 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. by scheduling an appointment to file the applicable items with the City Clerk at Aventura Government Center (19200 W. Country Club Drive, Aventura, FL).
